EUNIS E-Learning Task Force Workshop

In June the University of Abertay, Dundee (Scotland) will host EUNIS 2015. This year EUNIS in partnering with Jisc will deliver a workshop on Electronic Management of Assessment and assessment analytics. The workshop, on 9th June, will explore how technology can be used to enhance assessment and feedback activities and streamline associated administration and how we might make use of assessment data to improve learning.

TALOE will participate in this event and present a web tool that is being develop and that intends to help teachers decide which e-assessment strategies to use in online courses. TALOE will be represented by project partner University Computing Centre SRCE (University of Zagreb).

New article on blog “e-assessment (f)or learning”

A new article was posted on 15 March on Sally Jordan’s blog “e-assessment (f)or learning” entitled “Performance on interactive computer-marked questions – gender differences”. Sally Jordan is Head of the Open University‘s Physics Discipline and from 1st April 2015 she will be the Head of the Department of Physical Sciences. Her substantive post is as a Senior Lecturer and Staff Tutor in Science. Her blog is about new findings and ideas in e-assessment.

Third webinar announcement

A new webinar “Mind the Gap! Perceptual differences and learning” is due on 18 March, 2015 at 11.00 CET, as part of the TALOE webinar series “Talks on e-assessment and learning outcomes”. The lecturer will be Steve Wheeler,  associate professor of Learning Technology in Plymouth Institute of Education, Plymouth University. He is going to discuss different gaps teachers and students face every day – generational gaps, gaps in understanding, expectation gaps, gaps in literacy, intention gaps – which can be widened or narrowed by using technology. He also explores flipped roles, digital assessment and technology enhanced learning in his presentation.
